HOLIDAY! CELEBRATE!

Hey everyone!

I'm a bad bad girl.

I don't post here at all but I do think about blogspot a lot and how much I miss doing my blog.

So, the holiday collection by MAC came out and like every year, I'm drawn to the glitter, the lights, the brightness of every holiday collection (even though its the same colors every year, just different names). I really don't care because to me, I will forever be a MAC addict.

I got two of the palettes. One eyeshadow and one lip palette. I also bought the one with one of the blushes...I believe the pink one but I returned it because the blushes were wayyy too sheer for my skintone. It would've been a waste and sat on my desk forever.

I also bought the gift set with the fluidline, zoomlash mascara, mini 209 brush, and mini makeupbag. I actually regret not leaving the packaging alone because I wanted to return it. But oh well at least I have a new little makeup bag. It's kinda cute but I really do love the fluidline and pigment.

As you can see the bag is small but it fits a lot of stuff if they're small enough. I was able to fit a lot of things in there. The makeup bags this year are way better than the ones last year. Last year's suck!

Left: Rich Ground fluidline: "Reddened coco with frost." -MAC website
Right: Melon pigment: "Soft bright golden peach." -MAC website

Now for the palettes.

I didn't like any of the eyeshadow palettes except the Devil May Dare 6 eyeshadow palette:

Clockwise starting from top left: Oh My Darling (Frost), Sorcery (Satin), Prankster (Veluxe Pearl), Devilishly Dark (Frost), Gold Tease (Frost), Dare Ya! (Veluxe Pearl).

I am in love with this palette. It's such a perfect travel, evening, daytime, all occasion eyeshadow palette. The only thing I don't like is that there is no MATTE color. If it had that then it would be flawless. Other than that, these colors are really nice for the fall/winter season. MAC matched these colors well.
Another thing I love is that it the mirror stands! You can do your makeup with this on your desk and look into the mirror without holding it up. Other palettes especially last years sucked! Remember the big jewel in the front (which I removed)? They are not stackable. These are! and I love the packaging. Really sturdy and cute. The brush is bleh like most of their travel sized brushes in a palette.

The lip palette I bought was the VIVA GLAM palette! I think Viva Glam lipsticks are one of the best lipsticks MAC makes. Especially one of my faves: Viva Glam V! I ran out of my tube of this so I decided to buy the palette that comes with Viva Glam VI lipstick and lipglass:

From left to right: Viva Glam V lipstick, Viva Glam VI lipstick, Viva Glam VI lipglass

Swatched in the same order as the palette on my lips.

Here are looks I did with the eyeshadow palette. The left eye has the three top colors and the right eye has the bottom colors. I know it looks scary but I didn't want to keep using my eye makeup remover and cause irritation to my eyes:

Here they are upclose. This is the greenish gold colors

Products used:
Too Faced Eyeshadow Insurance
MAC Lucky Jade shadestick
Devil May Dare eyeshadows:
Gold Tease e/s to inner 3/4 of eye
Devilishly Dark e/s to outer v
Dare Ya! e/s to tear duct
Rich Ground fluidline
MAC Zoomlash mascara
MAC Graphblack liner
MAC Llama e/s to highlight.

Here is the top row of eyeshadows.
Here is what I used:
Too Faced Eyeshadow Insurance
MAC Perky paint pot
Devil May Dare Shadows:
Sorcery e/s to inner 3/4 of eye
Prankster e/s to outer v
Oh My Darling e/s to highlight and tear duct
Prankster e/s used wet for liner
Prestige liner in Powerful Purple
MAC Zoomlash mascara

So there is my mini haul and looks for today. I love eyeshadow palettes. I've recently been purchasing more and more since you get more for your buck. I'll be showing more and more looks from palettes. They're so great for everything! All the colors are matched and in a compact you can carry with you everywhere...love 'em!

Till next time,

peace.love.makeup.

Smokey Vegas Eyes

Hey everyone!

I wanted to post a look I did in Vegas a couple of weeks ago for a wedding. It's always so fun there because you can pretty much do any kind of look and it will always look good there. It is the land of smokey eyes. Any kind, any type, it's there.

I actually got this look from the lovely MakeupbyRenRen who in infamous for her Makeupforever No. 92 look. If you haven't seen her tutorial you can see it here. She's awesome!

What I used:

Eyes
Too Faced Eyeshadow Insurance
MAC Painterly paint pot
MAC Yogurt e/s (highlight)
MAC Carbon e/s (outer V & crease)
MakeupForever No. 92 e/s (lid)
MAC Smolder eye kohl
Ardell #110
Benefit Bad Gal lash
MAC Charcoal Brown e/s (brows)

Face
MAC Prep 'N Prime
Mary Kay Medium Coverage Foundation in Beige 400
MAC Mineralized Skinfinish Natural in Medium Plus
MAC Mineralized Blush in Nuance
MAC Mineralized Skinfinish in Brunette (lighter side)
Mary Kay Bronze Sands to contour
Fix +

Lips
MAC Viva Glam V lipstick
MAC Funtabulous Dazzleglass

The first pic is my lovely best friends ever since elementary (minus 2 that couldn't come). The middle girl is the bride to be at the time. It was so much fun at her bachelorette party!

The middle pic is my friend Cheryl and I. We've been friends since the first grade! She thought my makeup was too much because she is just a natural girl. As you can see, she is only wearing mascara, some blush, and some e/s that she borrowed from my makeup bag. I think she picked the lightest one in my bag.

The last pic is with people I don't know...haha! I just randomly met the girl in the middle at the bar and thought her makeup was so pretty. I love red lips (as you can see in my previous FOTD.) I'm just too chicken to wear them. I definitely will in my next trip to Vegas. I just wanted to post this pic so you guys can see the makeup closely. I have no idea who those girls are.

My next post will be a haul. I rarely do hauls but what the hey...why not. A lot of you in my first giveaway stated that I should do more hauls. So, for popular demand, I'll include hauls here and there. A small haul but with lots of MAC goodies! Stay tuned.

I'M BACK!! HOPE YOU GUYS ARE STILL WITH ME??

GOSH!

How time does fly by huh?

I've been gone a looooong time. I apologize to everyone for this missing in action thing I have going on. Lots of things on my mind, lots of things going on, and lots to talk about!

What's first??

-Vacations: I've been on several small vacations here and there from work just trying to have some fun with friends and family. I usually call staying home for a day or so a small vacation...anything away from work.

-Weddings, bridal showers, baby showers...the whole nine: yes you said it...must be that time of year or something. I swear all my friends have either had/or is having a baby, getting or has gotten married, and/or will/or have had a shower in the past few weeks. I've been busy with that as well.

-For a serious note: R.I.P Farrah, Billy, Ed, and my all time favorite singer/dancer/musical icon/humanitarian of all time MICHAEL JACKSON. I still can't believe it. A huge part of my childhood seems like it has died...but I will always remember him when I play his music. I don't care what anyone says about him...he's the freaking greatest!

Much more within the weeks I've been gone, but not enough space to write it. I'll save it for my book.

Oh yeah, and TWILIGHT is the best, TRANSFORMERS 2 was alright, CHOPPED on food network is the bomb show, and MEGAN FOX needs to go to acting school.

On the Twilight thing, I didn't know how good it was until the second time I watched it. Yes, I am on the Twilight bandwagon!

So for the first day I'm back I have to confess that I'm quitting the youtube channel and dedicating much more time to my blog. Well at least more entries. I felt that I had no time anymore for the channel. It was fun but I just lacked the time to put into it. So more entries! Well that's my goal...and I ditched the organization of my blog as well. No more neutral mondays, swatch wednesdays, or bright fridays. Well...lets just say that I will have those topics but not on assigned days. I'm going to post things on what I feel and what I want to share with you guys...because life is just random like that.

Here's my new FOTD! A look I will definitely rock out in Vegas when I go soon. I picked up a bright red lippie because I rarely wear it. This is my first really true red lipstick. It's beautiful.

What I used:

Eyes
Too Faced Eyeshadow Insurance
MAC Soft Ochre paint pot
MAC Mineralized Skinfinish Natural in Dark (crease)
MAC Creme de Miel e/s (lid)
MAC Blacktrack Fluidline
NYX lashes #118
Duo lash glue in clear
Benefit Bad Gal lash mascara
Spiced Chocolate e/s (brows)
Anastasia brow gel (awesome brow gel!!!)

Face
MAC Prep 'n Prime
Mary Kay Medium Coverage Foundation in Beige 400
Lime Crime Pixie Dust
MAC Studio Sculpt concealer in NW35
MAC Mineralized Skinfinish Natural in Dark
MAC Plum Foolery blush
Fix +

Lips
Aquaphor
MAC Redd lip liner
MAC Ruby Woo lipstick

Ruby Woo by MAC (with MAC Redd lip liner)...a really beautiful RED.

I'm thinking of wearing this look with a black dress and some snakeskin heels. I'm thinking of doing my hair to the side like the picture but with more curls and of course I'm going to wear the flower. What do you guys think?

Oh and by the way...I WANT THIS BAG SOOO BAD!! But it's wayy over my budget right now and will be forever....that's Gucci for ya! Isn't it pretty though? I love that strap you can put over your body. I'm a sucker for not carrying your purse on your shoulder.

Hope you guys have a great Monday!

SWATCH CENTRAL WEDNESDAYS: MAC SLIMSHINES

So here's another addition to the swatch central Wednesdays!

I loooove slimshines. Especially the ones that came out in last years Cool Heat collection by MAC. I fell in love with them because of the texture and colors. Just enough color as a lipstick but texture like a lipgloss. The smell is kinda wierd though. I can't really put a name to it. You just have to smell it for yourself. It's not a bad smell though. Just kind of odd.

Anyway, I'm coming down with a fever or something. I just don't feel good and feel all achy. I might have caught something at work. I hope not but I feel icky, like something is about to come about. I hate that feeling don't you?

I wanted to thank everyone again for entering the giveaway! I'll be posting the video on Friday for Bright Friday. Any requests for this Friday or any Friday coming up?

So I hope you guys have a great Wednesday! I'll be doing more giveaways/contests soon. I'm planning to do a contest next and think about what to base it on. There are so many ideas out there...what to choose?

Here's the swatches of the MAC Slimshines and all descriptions from the MAC website:

ROCKOUT!: "Blue-pink with gold pearl" (Frost)

VOILE: "Canary yellow with pearl" (Frost)

SWELTER: "Sheer clean red" (Frost)

GENTLE SIMMER: "Clean pink with whitepearl" (Frost)

The only thing I don't like about the slimshines is that they fade faster than regular lipsticks or lipglosses. But I find using lip pencils help them last long.

Other than that, I really like them. Lots of colors to choose from. I really like the pink/coral ones instead of the more brownish taupe ones because they wash me out a little. Try them out! If you have a local CCO near you, they are currently selling them for a cheaper price.

NEUTRAL MONDAY: USING PURPLE & GRAY

Ahhh it's Monday again! It was a short weekend full of busy things to do. I can't sleep as usual for some reason. I've been having a bad case of insomnia for the past few weeks. It's probably my work schedule. But I actually don't really mind it. I just feel like a vampire sometimes without all the blood and my skin burning in the sunlight...my whole sleeping schedule is off.

So anything fun happen for you guys on the weekend? Any exciting stories?

Just to let you guys know, the giveaway entries are closed. Thanks to everyone who participated! I appreciate all the feedback you left me in the comments! I'm trying to make my blog as best I can. I just want to say that I know my background sucks. I'm working on making it me. I just put it this way so it's better for readers to read because I know my old black background was really shocking to the eye.

I'll be announcing the winners this Friday so stay tuned. And like I said in my last blog post, my sister and I will be doing a youtube video to announce the winner to make it extra fair.

Here's my new addition to neutral Monday! I wanted to utilitze MAC's Shale e/s which a beautiful purple/gray that is just enough color for everyday use.

Here's what I used:

Eyes
MAC Studio Finish concealer in NC35
MAC Girl Friendly paint pot
MAC Oceanique e/s
MAC Shale e/s
MAC Charcoal Brown e/s (brows)
MAC Baby Petals e/s
STILA eye Kajal in Smokey Quartz
BOBBI BROWN Gunmetal e/s
LORAC Special Effects mascara
Anastasia brow gel

Face
SMASHBOX Photo Finish primer Light
MAC Studio Fix powder in C4
MAC Studio Sculpt concealer in NW35
MAC True Romantic beauty powder blush
NARS Laguna bronzer

Lips
MAC Viva Glam V lipstick
MAC 2N lipglass

So I hope you guys like this look. I actually use Shale all the time for everyday all over colors on my lid, a little dark shadow in the crease, and then I'm ready to go. Also a trick to stay neutral on the eyes but still emphasize your eyes, use a grayish toned or gray colored eye liner to line the waterline and as a liner. It still adds the sexiness of black liner but in a toned down way.

So I have a few requests from bloggers, some looks and tutorials that I need to get through. Just wanted to tell you all that I'm working on it and I have some stuff done, just need to post it.

Well hope you guys have a great day! Back to work but gotta make that money!

I always look forward to bright Friday though. I love this day.

So any summer plans for anyone? It doesn't even feel like summer right now though. It's about to rain with thunder and lightening tomarrow as predicted. But usually the forecast is the opposite. I honestly love the rain more than the sun. But it's June...whats up with the sun? Where is it?
